Porcher Marine Skytex, F 09 092, E 38 A medium finish, 44 g/sqm, 158 cm (62 in) width for all fabric wing parts -- including 2cm tape for LE reinforcements, lower-skin reinforcement along A-loops, and "V" and "I" rib reinforcements.
Heminway & Bartlett DABOND 2000 thread, V69 for sewing, V346 and V207 for A/B/T-lines.
1cm webbing, lightweight, nylon or polyester, for A/B/T-loops.
1.5mm dyneema (100kg test) for connector loops, bag drawstring.
1.0mm dyneema for mooring loops, linkline, adjuster lines.
Small plastic toggle for kite-bag drawstring.
General steps
Wing
Cut out all fabric parts (align warp correctly). Coating faces inside of wing.
Make 2cm tape (cut fabric along warp).
Cut A/B/T webbing loops. Cut mooring loops.
Draw rib-lines onto main panels of upper and lower skins. Draw A-loop reinforcement strip location onto lower-skin main panels. Draw A-loop and B-loop locations onto lower-skin main panels and tip trim panels. Draw locations of "V" and "I" reinforcement strips onto ribs.
Sew 2cm tape A-loop reinforcement strip onto inside of lower skin main panel. Trim tape ends.
Sew 2cm tape "V" and "I" reinforcement strips onto ribs. Trim tape ends.
Sew skin tip trim panels to skin main panels.
Sew 2pc tip upper and lower halves together.
Sew folded 2cm tape to LE of skins, to LE of all ribs, to LE of 2pc tips. Trim tape ends.
Sew ribs and 2pc tips to upper skin. Begin at LE. TE of each rib and 2pc tip must end at skin TE.
Sew ribs, A-loops and B-loops, and 2pc tips to lower skin. Begin at LE. Backstitch once completely over each webbing loop. TE of each rib and 2pc tip must end at skin TE. TE of upper skin must match TE of lower skin.
Sew TE shut. Sew TE roll hem, securely attaching mooring loops in the process.
Bag
Cut out all fabric parts. Coating faces inside of bag.
Sew drawstring tunnel.
Sew main panel to trim panel.
Sew main manel / trim panel into a tube.
Sew on circular end panel.
Make drawstring.
Install drawstring and toggle.
Bridle
Make bridle system and assemble it to wing. See How to make or replace WindDance bridle lines.
Miscellaneous
Stitch length: 3mm
Seam allowances and TE roll hem: 5mm
Webbing loops: 4cm material length, 1cm long when finished
Mooring loops: 30cm material length
Bag drawstring: 50cm material length
At last!
Perform "Bridle pre-flight" on page 13 of user's manual.
Adjust bridle to "First-flight" setting.
